My first visit to Canada! We like to go somewhere special for our anniversary each year and this year we decided on Niagara Falls. Looking over the falls from our hotel room, we could see the ferry's, the giant ferris wheel, and the falls below. Beautiful place. Picture wide walkways made of stone and colorful flowers blooming. Niagara Falls is one of those places that is commercial but with a lovely slant that combines nature, fun, comfort, aesthetics, and drama while offering something for most people. The next day we took the tour behind the falls, and stood on a rock balconied overlook to see close up the power of the water coming over the falls. It's indescribable in volume and power. Then it was time to ride the ferry so we walked the ramp and found a spot at the rail. We didn't want to miss anything. With a full boat of people dressed in red plastic poncho's, our ferry eased its way to the great falls. The closer we came to the Canadian falls, the heavier the force of the spray until everyone had to hold on but the ferry kept a safe distance from power of the falling water. Turning, our ferry headed to the smaller American falls and circled back around to the dock.
We had a celebration dinner, took the incline train down the hill to the main falls overlook, strolled around the town, rode the giant ferris wheel and then strolled back to the falls while the lights played on the falls and the stars shone above. Yes, I would go back.
